Seller Agreement

Private beta version · Effective October 6, 2026

These rules apply whenever you post an item for sale or trade.

Beta geography

The private beta is limited to sellers located in the United States, U.S. shipping addresses and transactions in U.S. dollars. International selling and shipping are not enabled.

Ownership and legality

You must own the item or be authorized to sell it, and the listing, shipment and transaction must be legal where you and the buyer are located.

Accurate listings

Use your own photos when practical and accurately describe brand, model, condition, defects, included accessories, authenticity and any safety issue that would matter to a buyer.

Prohibited items

You may not list anything barred by the Prohibited Items Policy. During beta, weapon sales are not permitted, including firearms, ammunition and items marketed as combat or self-defense weapons.

Shipping and completion

When live shipping is enabled, sellers must use the transaction’s shipping workflow, ship within the stated handling window, package items safely and use valid tracking. Do not mark an item shipped when it has not been tendered to the carrier.

Seller verification

Before payouts are enabled, sellers may be required to complete Stripe-hosted identity, tax and payout onboarding. High-volume sellers may also need additional information, verification, disclosures and periodic certification required by marketplace law.

Taxes

Sellers remain responsible for their own income-tax obligations. Trail of Trades will only enable marketplace tax collection after required platform registrations and payment configuration are complete.

These beta policies are operational rules for Trail of Trades and are not a substitute for individualized legal or tax advice. They will be reviewed again before public launch and before real-money transactions are enabled.
