Privacy Policy
This policy explains the information Trail of Trades uses to operate the private beta.
Information we collect
- Account information such as email address, profile name and username.
- Listings, photos, messages, offers, trades, reports and beta feedback you submit.
- Shipping addresses and transaction records when those features are enabled.
- Authentication, security and technical records needed to operate and protect the service.
How we use information
We use information to provide accounts and marketplace features, prevent abuse, investigate reports, improve the beta, support transactions, meet legal obligations and protect the service.
Service providers
Trail of Trades uses service providers such as Supabase for database/authentication infrastructure and may use Stripe for payment onboarding and processing. Payment-card and seller-verification information should be collected by Stripe rather than stored directly in Trail of Trades whenever possible.
Sharing
Public listing/profile information is visible to other marketplace users. Private messages are limited to conversation participants and authorized moderation/support access. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to prevent fraud or harm.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the beta, dispute prevention, legal compliance and account administration. We use access controls and row-level database policies, but no online service can promise absolute security.
Age
The current private beta is for adults age 18 and older.
Questions and requests
During beta, use the in-app feedback/reporting tools for privacy questions or account requests until a dedicated support address is published.
