Buyer Protection is not yet active for real-money transactions in the private beta.
Private beta
Current checkout screens are for testing unless the app expressly identifies a live transaction. No tester should send money based on a prototype order confirmation.
Planned live protection
Before public payment launch, the transaction flow will define covered non-delivery, materially-not-as-described and unauthorized-payment cases, evidence requirements, reporting windows, refunds and seller payout timing.
Not covered
Off-platform payments, prohibited items, buyer remorse outside any published return right, or transactions completed outside the Trail of Trades checkout may not qualify for platform protection.
These beta policies are operational rules for Trail of Trades and are not a substitute for individualized legal or tax advice. They will be reviewed again before public launch and before real-money transactions are enabled.
